Columbia Lodge #58 Frederick, MD

Ancient Free and Accepted Masons (AF&AM)

Masonic website Assistance

As brethren of the great Fraternity of Freemasonry it is all of our duty to provide help and assistance when possible to any brothers if it is within our power to do so without causing injury to ourselves or family. To this end, Columbia Lodge #58 is willing to assist any lodge, in good standing ,with the establishment of a web presence and website of their very own similar to what we have set up for our own lodge.

Every step along the process our webmaster will guide you through everything you need from the establishment of your very own web address to the final handover of administration to your designated contact and help with  any post website questions and support you may have.

All we require is for the requesting lodge to cover the expense of the web address and all options (average of $167 per year as of Sept 2011, account will be in requesting lodge’s name for their control) as well as provide a donation to the Frederick, MD Columbia Lodge #58 for the time spent by our web master on consultation, developing your website, and follow-on support (suggested donation is $500).

What our webmaster will be able to do with you:

· Initial consultation— This is to determine your unique lodge needs and outline the process from beginning to end to ensure that all expectations are met and/or addressed. It will also be when contact information and any photos or other information used for the development of the website is exchanged. This consultation will be by phone, skype, or in-person (if possible).

· Web Site—Our web master, after careful consultation with you and your lodge representatives, will begin to develop a draft of the website itself. All files will be sent to you and your lodge for review with specific instructions on how to properly view the file as if it were actually on the internet (its only 3 steps).  Once you and your lodge are happy with the layout and content we will be just about ready to publish.

· Web Address—We will work with you to find a web address that you wish to use that is available to claim.  At this point we will need to establish who and how the web address and options will be funded (usually a credit card that can be used to set up a recurring yearly charge to keep your website up year after year). Columbia Lodge #58 will not ask for your credit card information! Once established, the previously approved web site will be uploaded to the internet for all to see. You are now on-line!

· Final consultation—This is the time we will give you and your lodge all passwords, answer any questions you may have up to now, and walk you through how to administer your new website.

· Support—We understand that there is a bit of a learning curve to administering a new website. To help you and your lodge with this, our web master will be happy to assist you through the first year with any website or other support issues and questions you may have to the best of his ability.

If you are interested in having Columbia Lodge #58 help you establish your own lodge’s website, please contact our web master at: WebMaster@columbialodge58.org   We will be happy to answer any questions you may have as you research your options.
