From The East; BrethrenI would like to thank you for electing me Worshipful master of Columbia Lodge for 2012. We have a very busy year ahead of us.The Grand Master and the Campaign2025 committee have decided to have another statewide open house. This year’s open house will be May 5, 2012 from 10am until 5pm. Every Blue Lodge in the state will be open on that day and time to allow the public to come and gain information about our Fraternity and meet some of us.The Grand Master has made it mandatory that every Lodge in the state be certified by our Deputy Grand Lecturer to confer the Master Mason degree. We have until March 31, 2012 to do this. We are going to attempt this on Thursday, January 12 at 7pm at the Temple. We are going to need at least 15 Brethren to do this. Please mark your calendar and try to make that date. Even if you are not an officer of the Lodge we are going to need your support with this task.On Saturday January 21 at 9am we are going to raise 8 brethren to Master Mason. We will do 7 in the short form and one in the long form. We will break around noon to enjoy a spaghetti lunch prepared by our fundraising committee. The cost will be $8.00 per person kids under 10 free. This lunch will be open to members of Columbia and their families. This will kick off a monthly dinner that will be held the 3rd Saturday of each month at the temple starting in February. It will be served around 6pm the menu will vary from month to month. The dinner will be opened to the public. Proceeds will go to help support Columbia Lodge.The fundraising committee meets the 2nd Wednesday of every month at the Temple at 7pm. Anyone who would like to attend is welcomed to do so. All ideas pertaining to raising money for the Lodge will be welcomed.Don’t forget about our annual church service at Bonnie Blink. This year our date is January 29 at 3pm. We always have a great time carpooling to Bonnie Blink and hearing Bro Paul Leatherman preach his Sermon. He always does an outstanding job. We will meet around 12:30pm at the Lodge and carpool down.If you would like to be added to my email list to receive the Trestle Board as well as other as other Communications via email shoot me your email address.
